OPINION: To improve transparency, should the Legislature eat its own dogfood?

The state’s open meeting law doesn't result in more transparent deliberation. Instead, it empowers a series of unaccountable and unelected middlemen to communicate and coordinate on behalf of the officials.

Students should help shape the ‘Future of Learning’

Commercial curriculum, arbitrary seat time, one-size-fits-all pathways and unreasonable expectations that every student will attend college are the realities of today. Our students want their voices heard, seen and valued.

Educational impasse hurts everyone

As long as the Clark County School District and Clark County Education Association refuse to act in the best interests of the kids who attend our schools, teachers will continue to look for other options outside of education.
