Freshman Democratic Rep. Susie Lee is among 17 swing-seat Democrats being targeted in a $2.2 million advertising campaign from House Majority Forward, a non-profit group linked to the Democratic Party’s House majority super PAC.

Unlike congressional campaign spending, as a super PAC, the group is not required to disclose donor information.

The buy was first reported by Politico.

Titled “Problem Solver,” the ad touts Lee’s efforts on health care, including her involvement in the bipartisan House Problem Solvers Caucus and her votes on legislation that would seek to update and modernize VA medical records and lower prescription drug prices by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices.

The ad is the second such push by outside groups to boost Lee on the issue of health care, following a buy by the group Protect Our Care last year. Such spending comes in the wake of a wide-ranging push by Republican groups to link Lee and other vulnerable Democrats to last month’s vote to impeach President Donald Trump.

Lee’s District 3 — one of few swing districts up for grabs nationwide — has a Democratic voter registration advantage of just 2 percentage points, with 36 percent for Democrats and 34 percent for Republicans. Combined with a narrow 1-point win for Donald Trump in 2016, the district has become a clear target for both the state and national arms of the Republican Party.

Thus far, just two Republicans are actively campaigning to unseat her: former Treasurer Dan Schwartz and ex-wrestler and Fox News-regular Dan Rodimer.
